Certain Ford trucks have made the Insurance Bureau of Canada’s annual list of most-stolen vehicles.
If you own a light- to medium-duty Ford F-series truck, the report suggests thieves tend to favour that model.
In Ontario, thieves go after high-end SUV’s and trucks, including the Chevy Tahoe, Silverado and Suburban models.
In 2017, New Brunswick had the highest increase in theft at 28 per cent, followed by Ontario at 15 per cent, then Quebec and Alberta.
The Bureau adds New Years Day tends to be when most thefts happen.
As for the motivation for the thefts, it could be for parts, to use the vehicle in a crime, or sell it out of the country.
