This Sunday is November 11th, which is Remembrance Day, a day when we show our thanks to those who fought for our freedom and gave their lives for our country.
Please remember to pick up a poppy, they are available all around the city. The money goes to support the Veterans.
There are several services happening in the city if you’d like to attend one:
Fort William Gardens will have music, including the Pipe and Drums band, starting at 10 o’clock. They ask that everyone be seated by 10:30.
Waverly Park will have a parade beginning at 10:15 with a service held at the Cenotaph. This will be followed by a church service at St. Paul’s United Church.
Fort William First Nation Mount McKay Cenotaph will have a service starting at 10:30 with lunch to follow at the FWFN Community Centre.
If you can’t make it to one of those, please try to take a moment at some point on Sunday to give thanks and think about the sacrifices and how much has been done for us, and continues to be done for us, by all the brave men and women in the armed forces.
