Legal use of Cannabis in Canada is here to stay, that according to Derek Riedle, the CEO and publisher of Civilized, a cannabis advocacy magazine.
Riedle says the tax revenue generated from the sale of cannabis will stop any other federal government from repealing the law.
“This is something that is less harmful, personally from a societal perspective than alcohol,” Reidle claims. “Any society that tolerates the legal sale of alcohol should be able to tolerate the legal sale of cannabis.”
Riedle admits as a younger person he never expected to see the legalization of marijuana occurring in his lifetime.
Riedle says the World Cannabis Congress will be held each year in Saint John, New Brunswick, and he expects it to be even bigger and better next June now that legalization has finally arrived.
