On Sunday night the Canadian Country Music Association Awards were handed out live from Hamilton! Prior to the start of the show there was a 1 hour broadcast of the red carpet which streamed live on CBC Music’s Facebook page! This years show was hosted by the legendary Shania Twain and included performances by some of the best in Canadian country music like Paul Brandt, Tim Hicks, Brett Kissel, High Valley and Meghan Patrick! The show also included a performance by special guest Keith Urban:
Jess Moskaluke, Kira Isabella and Madeline Merlo started off the show with a tribute performance to the host of the evening, Shania Twain:
The awards were presented by a variety of people, including fellow country artists, canadian actors and members of the Hamilton Tiger Cats Football Team.

Apple Music Fans’ Choice Award: Shania Twain
Ford Album of the Year: Jess Moskaluke for Past the Past
Female Artist of the Year: Meghan Patrick (who won the same award last year!).
Male Artist of the Year: Dallas Smith (his first time winning this award!).
Group/Duo of the Year: The Washboard Union
Roots Artist/Group of the Year: The Washboard Union (Presented during the CCMA Gala).
SiriusXM Rising Star: The Reklaws
Single of the Year: The James Barker Band – Chills
Video of the Year: Dallas Smith – Sky Stays This Blue (Presented during the CCMA Gala).
Interactive Artist of the Year: Brett Kissel (Presented during the CCMA Gala).
The evening featured some other noteworthy performances including Paul Brandt, High Valley, Hunter Brothers and Jess Moskaluke taking to the stage to sing a Johnny Cash classic:

Shania Twain was presented with The 2018 Generation Award which she accepted from fellow Canadian artist, Alessia Cara.
Terri Clark received her induction into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and was joined on stage by Meghan Patrick, Suzy Bogguss and Jessica Mitchell:
All in all, it was a great night highlighting some of the best talent in Canadian Country Music! The CCMA’s next year are set for Calgary and will happen on September 8th, 2019!
